News - Dunbar Rotary Club - £2000 Festive Donation...
BeGreen Dunbar through our funding from CWP Energy is delighted to be supporting the Dunbar Rotary Clubs festive initiative. A donation of £2000 will enable the Club to continue supporting the local community in various ways. The Rotary Club will assist the Dunbar Day centre in providing Christmas meals and Christmas hampers and treats for those that attend the day centre and also help towards the Christmas party. They will also support the Intergeneration Group (Dinners at DGS) held at Dunbar Grammar School. Making sure no one will be left out over the festive season. The “Angel Tree” which you may see in our BeGreen office is another project which will benefit from the donation. Although this is supported very generously by the local community, the grant allows the topping up and wrapping of gifts as well as additional goodies being added to the gift bags. The “Angel Tree” focuses on giving gifts to families who may otherwise not be in a position to do so. Additionally, they have partnered with local community agencies to help address food poverty at Christmas, with vouchers to help with Christmas meals for families. They also have the addition of a “Santa Skiff” this year. This will see Santa venturing around the streets of Dunbar in a rowing boat instead of a sleigh, not only to keep up the tradition of the fishing community but also to get everyone in the Christmas Spirit! Anouska, Community Co-ordinator is pleased to be supporting such a great initiative. “It’s so nice to be able to support the Dunbar Rotary Club. They are doing magnificent work in the local area, and you can really see all their passion shine through in all that they do. They are making such a difference, especially at a time that can be so difficult for people. We are really proud to be working alongside them. Well done to all involved!” You can pick up an Angel Gift tag from BeGreen Dunbar. |
